14 Days of Maddy: Day 2 Trust

Trust.

It’s an important word at Madelyn James Pediatric Cancer Foundation and brings back the decisions we had to make each day about Maddy’s treatment. She wasn’t on a protocol so our team conferenced about what decisions to make at each step in her journey. And, our amazing doctor an

d team shared all of it with us. We trusted them because they always had second opinions. We believe that every family should have the right to a second opinion to build trust and love with their medical team. These decisions can save lives. For us, these decisions gave us more time with Maddy.

On the second day of the#14DaysofMaddy, we chose "trust" to honor our community that managed Maddy’s care. And, each day we trusted our support network with Maddy's story. 

To us, this word exemplifies honor through the dignity our team gave to Maddy through her life and death.
