You are hope. 
Hope is never giving up. It's making a monster mash party on your T-cell infusion day. It's dressing up for "fancy Fridays" because, why not? It's celebrating every birthday and every milestone. It's going to the swings each day before treatment and saying cheers with your twin sister over a beignet. It's picking a hospital because instead of talking about only statistics, your doctor was the first one to talk about Maddy's graduation from college. It’s looking at the bright side when all you can see ahead is darkness. You never have to give up hope, and it’s something that we leaned on and learned from over the past year.
At every turn, we never gave up. And, Maddy never gave up. Even on her last day, she kept going until she knew it was time. She brought our family together from across the country.
We want to spread hope to other families navigating the pain of cancer. We see you.
