Meet Hadleigh: Our First DC Family

Meet Hadleigh

Meet Hadleigh!

Sweet Hadleigh Jean Rose came into the world as a bright light, welcomed with open arms by her loving family in West Virginia: her inspiring parents, Jonathan and Lindsey, and her excited big brother, three-year-old Austin. Her name carries deep meaning, honoring her grandmothers, Jean and Rose, and she holds a special place in the hearts of everyone who loves her.

At just three months old, Hadleigh's parents brought her to a pediatric clinic in Purcellville, Virginia when they noticed some concerning health issues that were building up too quickly with no answer. They were quickly sent to INOVA Fairfax Hospital’s children’s Emergency Room for further testing. It was there that they received life-altering news: Hadleigh had been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma M, a rare pediatric cancer affecting only about 400 children in the U.S. each year. Compounded by a genetic mutation, this diagnosis sent their world into a whirlwind.

No parent should ever have to face such devastating news. And Lindsey and Jonathan—so kind, so loving—are doing everything in their power to fight for their precious daughter while continuing to care for Austin. They need our support now more than ever.

In the weeks that followed, Jonathan returned to work to keep the family afloat, while Lindsey stayed with Hadleigh at the hospital, becoming her fiercest advocate and source of comfort. Their extended family has stepped in to care for Austin, managing school drop-offs, pickups, and keeping life as normal as possible for him amidst the chaos.

When we first met Lindsey, her warmth and resilience were immediately apparent. We spent three hours together just talking. It was like we had known each other for ages! Despite the weight of this new reality, she radiates positivity and pours her love into everyone around her—especially sweet Hadleigh. Her ability to process this upheaval and adjust to their new life, all while continuing to work remotely from the hospital, is nothing short of extraordinary. But this family still faces an uphill battle and needs our help to lighten the load.

Now, Hadleigh is undergoing her first stem-cell transplant at Children's National in DC. We are so honored to know this incredible family and work with this team from DC!

Hadleigh’s treatment plan is rigorous and will span more than two years, including:

  • High-dose chemotherapy
  • Two stem-cell transplants
  • Immunotherapy

Hadleigh’s favorite things are playing with her big brother, music therapy, classic rock music (she is the most calm around the classics!), eating food (she loves her purees!) and interactive toys. This journey will require countless hospital stays, significant travel expenses, and time away from work—all while managing life for a now four-year-old at home. The logistics alone are overwhelming, and the financial strain adds another layer of stress to an already heart-wrenching situation.

We want to create a space where Lindsey, Jonathan, and their family can receive the support they so deeply need—financial help that allows them to focus on what matters most: Hadleigh’s healing and being present with their children. Any contribution, big or small, will provide relief and remind this beautiful family that they are not alone in this fight.

Let’s come together for Hadleigh, Austin, Jonathan, and Lindsey, and surround them with the love and support they need to navigate this journey.
